Conditional Menus

Conditional Menus is a simple yet useful WordPress plugin by Themify, which allows you to swap the menus in the theme as per specific conditions. In short, you can have different menus in different posts, pages, categories, archive pages, etc. It works with any WordPress theme that uses the standard WordPress menu function.

How to use it

Once you activate the plugin, you will see the conditional menus on the Manage Locations tab located in your WP Admin > Appearance > Menus page.

1) To add conditional menu: click “Conditional Menu” and select a menu from the list (you can create these menus in the “Edit Menus” tab)
– You can remove the menu by selecting “Disable Menu” from the list.
2) Click on “+ Conditions” to add conditions in the modal box (tick the checkboxes where you want the menu to appear)
3) To remove the conditional menus, click on the “X” button

A lot of people felt this plug-in is glitchy or hard to use. There was a bit of figuring out to do, but it works fine! The only thing that might be confusing is that you can't actually set conditions categories/pages unless they are published and IN USE! So its not that the categories aren't showing up, its just that the only options that show up are the ones that are in use.

Its interface is a bit confusing. Only managed to use it correctly after watching a YouTube video.

Your conditional menus plugin is great! Thank you so much! I do have a suggestion: In my case the menu item names are the same of the general item names. Example.. on the home page menu I have 'restaurants' and 'events' etc., But on my city page I have the same menu items named 'restaurants' and 'events' but under a different submenu (in my case city). Under the 'conditions' tab it shows the options: restaurants restaurants events events Now, I have selected the second option of all menu items and by luck those were the correct ones. But now i only have 1 city, imagine if i have a ton! It would be amazingly great and helpfull if the sub menu was visible in the 'conditions' pages tab.
