Enter your Chatbot ID, enable the plugin, and the chat widget will load automatically on your site. You can also choose to display it inside the WordPress admin area. **What is WhisperChat?** WhisperChat is an AI chatbot platform that helps businesses answer visitor questions, provide support, capture leads, and book meetings through a conversational interface. Create and train your chatbot in your WhisperChat dashboard, then copy your Chatbot ID and paste it into the plugin settings. ### External services This plugin connects to **WhisperChat**, a third-party AI chatbot service, so that the chat widget can run on your site. This connection is required for the plugin to do anything — without it, there is no chatbot. What the plugin does: * When the chatbot is enabled, the plugin adds a small loader script, https:// widget.whisperchat.ai/embed.js, to the pages you select. The Chatbot ID you enter is passed to that script so it knows which chatbot to display. * When a visitor opens and uses the chat widget, their messages (and any contact details they choose to provide, such as name, email, or phone) are sent to WhisperChat’s servers in order to generate AI responses and, where enabled in your WhisperChat account, to capture leads. No visitor data is sent until the chatbot is enabled in the plugin settings and a visitor actually interacts with the widget on the selected pages. Install the plugin using one of the following methods: go to **Plugins Add New Upload Plugin**, upload the `whisperchat.zip` file, and click **Install Now**; or search for **WhisperChat – Ai chatbot for WordPress** in **Plugins Add New** and click **Install**. 2. Activate the plugin from the **Plugins** page in WordPress. 3. Go to **Settings WhisperChat**. 4. Enable **Show the AI chatbot on this site**. 5. Paste your **Chatbot ID** into the Chatbot ID field. 6. Choose where you want the chatbot to appear — **Show on the public website (frontend)** to display it for your website visitors, **Show in the WordPress admin area (backend)** to display it inside wp-admin, or enable both options to make it available in both places. 7. Make sure “Enable chatbot” is checked, a Chatbot ID is entered, and “Show on the public website (frontend)” is enabled in Settings WhisperChat. ### Does this work in the WordPress admin area too? Yes. Enable “Show in the WordPress admin area (backend)” if you also want the widget available while working inside wp-admin. ### Does the plugin collect any data itself? No. The plugin only stores your settings (Chatbot ID and the toggles).
