Better Plugin Compatibility Control

Description

Better Plugin Compatibility Control makes it easy for the blog administrator to check compatibility of all installed plugins. The plugin adds version compatibility info to the plugins page to inform the admin at a glance if a plugin is compatible with the current WP version. Until now you had to look it up on the respective plugin page. It’s now up to the admin wether to deactivate a non-compatible plugin or not.

I installed it an immediately saw plug-ins that were not being supported by their authors by the listed versions under the plug-in names. It immediately helped me to know which plug-ins might be causing me issues now and which are likely to cause me issues in the near future – because they’re no longer being updated by their authors to the newer versions of WordPress.

Does what is says, displays the WordPress version compatibility for each plugin on your site. It’s easy to view the version info. However, there are some instances when and older WordPress version is displayed, even though the plugin is compatible with the most current version of WordPress. When you notice a plugin has an older WordPress version displayed, select the “View Details” option for each plugin to confirm the info with the repository.

Not accurate in a lot of cases, checks readme files, not WordPress Depository… What’s the point if the info cannot be trusted to be accurate…

Needs to have less bugs in Query Monitor plugin for me to be able to let it up all day, but it’s a must have plugin. No problem in letting it ON.

The version information provided by this plug-in does not always match the information you get from the repository. And even if a plug-in does not officially support your WordPress version it might still work fine. So use “Better Plugin Compatibility Control” with care and common sense.
